Can you recommend an OpenSource software that would be compatible to use with the Blue LED Transilluminator? I've purchased a DSLR camera, and will make the outer box, but need to make sure that I can actually capture the images into a suitable program. i.e. is there a program which could connect directly to the DSLR camera to allow for real-time modification of exposure time etc, or should we just rely on manual changes at the camera itself? Would appreciate any insight other people might have as well!

      Best,
      Rachel

I think darktable would be a reasonable option https://www.darktable.org/

You can find a list of supported cameras here https://www.darktable.org/resources/camera-support/

There is some information of camera tethering here https://www.darktable.org/usermanual/en/tethering_chapter.html
