I am using the potentiostat for taking a normal CV (cyclic voltammetry). However, every time I perform the measurement the device starts at a very negative current (100uA) which is very likely to damage the electrode surface over time. Is there any way to avoid this large negative current at the beginning?
In addition, I have noticed the device never turns off as long as it is connected to the pc, which means even when no measurement is being performed, taking out the reference electrode from the solution while leaving the counter and working electrode connected, results in a change in potential. This causes high currents to accumulate (100uA) that has destroyed a couple of our samples. Is there a code that allows the device to stop passing current or fully stop all of its functions when no measurement is being taken?
